Agyemanti is located in the Aburi region of Ghana, also comprised of the neighboring villages of Adenkrabi, Ayim, Kitase and Amoakrom. The village is 24km north of the capitol city Accra. Founded over 150 eyars ago, the village is ethnically diverse, including people of Akuapem, Fante, Ga, Eve, and Guan backgrounds. The majority of the people in Agyementi are crop farmers, with a sizable minority of artisans. There are over 500 people in the village and more than 2,000 people in the region, all sharing the same polluted spring water.
